Apple Health sync needs iOS, HealthKit permission, data in Apple Health, and a successful NutriTracker sync.
Before you start #
- Apple Health is iOS-only.
- NutriTracker must have permission for each data type you want to sync.
- NutriTracker reads aggregated daily summaries and does not write to Apple Health.
Where to find it #
iOS #
- Open Settings.
- Tap Integrations.
- Tap Apple Health.
- Use Re-check permissions, Sync now, or Open Apple Health settings.
Android #
- Apple Health does not sync on Android.
- Use Settings > Connected Apps > Health Connect.
Web #
- Apple Health cannot be synced from web.
- Use the iOS app, then view synced data on web after sync completes.
How to use it #
- Open Apple Health in NutriTracker Settings.
- Tap Re-check permissions.
- Tap Open Apple Health settings and confirm NutriTracker has access to the missing data type.
- Return to NutriTracker and tap Sync now.
- Open Insights and refresh the relevant card.
What happens next #
- Synced summaries can update Insights, weight trend, coach context, and health-related cards.
- Denied data types stay missing until permission is granted.
- If Apple Health itself has no data for a metric, NutriTracker cannot create it.
Troubleshooting #
- Sync now is disabled. Grant Apple Health permissions first.
- Weight is missing. Grant weight permission in Apple Health settings or use Manual Weight Logging.
- Steps or sleep are missing. Check Apple Health contains the data for the date, then re-check permissions and sync again.
- I am on web or Android. Apple Health sync is only in the iOS app.
Privacy and safety notes #
- Only aggregated daily summaries are used. Raw HealthKit samples are not stored by NutriTracker.
