Apple Health is the iOS health data connection for NutriTracker. It lets your coach use aggregated daily summaries such as steps, sleep, workouts, and weight when you grant permission.
Before you start #
- Apple Health is only available on iPhone through the NutriTracker iOS app.
- You must be signed in and grant HealthKit permissions.
- NutriTracker reads aggregated daily summaries and does not write data back to Apple Health.
- Health-derived Coaching Rhythm timing is optional and only works from permissions you grant.

What happens next #
- NutriTracker stores and uses daily summaries, not raw HealthKit samples.
- Insights, weight trends, workout context, readiness context, and coach replies can use the synced summaries.
- Coaching Rhythm may use bounded timing buckets from permitted health data; raw HealthKit samples are not uploaded for rhythm personalisation.
- If you deny a permission, only the data types you allowed can be used.
Troubleshooting #
- Apple Health is not available. Use the iOS app on an iPhone. Apple Health is not available on web or Android.

- Data is missing. Open Apple Health settings and confirm NutriTracker has permission for the missing data type, then tap Sync now.
- Weight is missing. Check Apple Health weight permission. You can also use Manual Weight Logging to add a normal scale reading.
Privacy and safety notes #
