How AI Memory Works

AI memory lets your coach carry useful context forward, such as goals, preferences, routines, and guardrails, where your settings allow it.

Before you start #

  • AI memory depends on AI data consent.
  • Advanced memory editing, pinning, deletion, pause, and export controls are Pro-gated in current backend routes.
  • Coaching Rhythm is a related personalisation system for timing and routine patterns. Its privacy controls are separate from Pro-gated memory editing.
  • Memory should support coaching quality, not store secrets or emergency information.

Where to find it #

iOS #

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Search for Your Memory.
  3. Tap Your Memory.

Android #

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Search for Your Memory.
  3. Tap Your Memory.

Web #

  1. Open Settings > Privacy & Security.
  2. Click Coach Memory or open /settings/memory where enabled.
  3. Use Export coaching memory from Privacy & Security if you are Pro.
  4. Use Settings > Personalisation > Coaching Rhythm for rhythm controls when shown.

How to use it #

  1. Open Your Memory.
  2. Read memory groups and items.
  3. Edit items that are partly right but need correction.
  4. Delete items that are wrong or no longer wanted.
  5. Pin important items.
  6. Pause learning for 24 hours when you do not want the coach to learn from current conversations.
  7. Open Coaching Rhythm to pause timing personalisation, pause health-derived timing, pause notification timing, reset learned rhythm, export rhythm data, or delete rhythm data.
  8. Export memory from web if you need a copy and Pro access is active.

What happens next #

  • Memory changes affect future coaching context.
  • Pausing learning prevents new memory writes for 24 hours but does not delete existing memory.
  • Coaching Rhythm changes affect future timing suggestions, notification timing, and rhythm explanations without deleting old chat messages.
  • Deleting memory removes that item from future memory use, although old chat messages remain in chat history unless you delete the account.

Troubleshooting #

  • The coach remembers something I deleted. Check whether the context also exists in recent chat, profile fields, or another memory item.
  • Pause learning is missing. Check Pro status and app version, then try web /settings/memory.
  • A timing pattern is wrong. Use Coaching Rhythm controls to reset or pause the pattern, or use Chat to say what is wrong.
  • A memory keeps coming back. Contact help@nutritracker.io with the exact text and when it reappears.
  • I want AI coaching off. Use AI Data Sharing controls to revoke consent. This disables AI coaching features until consent is re-enabled.

Privacy and safety notes #

  • Memory can include sensitive routines and preferences. Use edit, delete, pause, and export controls regularly if that helps you feel in control.
  • Coaching Rhythm uses patterns, not certainty, and is not medical profiling.
