Notifications depend on device permission, browser support, app state, reminder settings, and sometimes active routines such as fasting or Coaching Rhythm timing personalisation.
Before you start #
- Enable notifications for NutriTracker in your device or browser settings.
- Check that you are signed in.
- Fasting can suppress meal reminders during active fasting windows.
- Coaching Rhythm can adjust notification timing when notification timing personalisation is active.
Where to find it #
iOS #
- Open iOS Settings > Notifications > NutriTracker.
- Enable Allow Notifications.
- Open NutriTracker Settings > Coach for Plan Reminders where shown.
Android #
- Open Android system settings for NutriTracker notifications.
- Allow notifications and check battery/background restrictions.
- Open NutriTracker Settings > Coach for Plan Reminders.
Web #
- Open NutriTracker Settings > Account.
- Use the Notifications card when browser push is supported.
- If blocked, open browser site settings and allow notifications for NutriTracker.
How to use it #
- Enable system or browser notifications.
- Open NutriTracker and check the relevant reminder setting.
- Make sure Focus, Do Not Disturb, or battery saver is not blocking notifications.
- For web, allow notifications in the browser and then click Enable notifications in NutriTracker.
- For fasting reminders, check the current fasting phase before reporting a missing meal nudge.
- For timing personalisation, open Settings > Personalisation > Coaching Rhythm and check whether notification timing is active or paused.
What happens next #
- Allowed notifications can arrive for reminders, proactive check-ins, and relevant app events.
- Browser push depends on browser support and configured push services.
- Meal reminders should not fire during an active fasting window.
- Rhythm-optimised notifications can arrive at different times as NutriTracker learns or as you correct timing assumptions.
Troubleshooting #
- The permission is blocked. Use device or browser settings to allow notifications. NutriTracker cannot show the browser prompt again while the browser blocks it.
- Only some reminders are missing. Check the specific feature setting, such as Plan Reminders, and whether fasting suppressed a meal reminder.
- The notification arrived at an odd time. Check Coaching Rhythm notification timing, device timezone, and recent routine changes. Pause notification timing personalisation if the timing is not helpful.
- Android stops notifications in the background. Check battery optimisation and allow NutriTracker background activity.
- Web notifications are unavailable. Use a supported browser with notifications enabled, or use the mobile app for the full reminder experience.
