Email, Notifications, and Marketing Preferences

NutriTracker uses notifications and emails for reminders, account messages, subscription messages, and optional marketing where you have consented.

Before you start #

  • Notification availability depends on platform permissions and app/browser support.
  • Marketing email consent is separate from coaching or transactional emails.
  • Fasting can suppress meal reminders during active fasting windows.
  • Coaching Rhythm can adjust notification timing when notification timing personalisation is active.

Where to find it #

iOS #

  1. Open iOS Settings > Notifications > NutriTracker for system permission.
  2. In NutriTracker, open Settings > Coach for Plan Reminders where shown.

Android #

  1. Open Android system settings for NutriTracker notification permission.
  2. In NutriTracker, open Settings > Coach and use Plan Reminders where shown.

Web #

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Open Account and use the Notifications card when browser push is supported.
  3. Use Privacy & Security > Privacy & Cookies for cookie and marketing consent controls where shown.

How to use it #

  1. Enable system notifications for NutriTracker on your device or browser.
  2. Open NutriTracker Settings and use Plan Reminders if you want daily nudges about active coaching plans, check-ins, and milestones.
  3. Use Settings > Personalisation > Coaching Rhythm to pause notification timing personalisation or reset learned timing patterns.
  4. Use browser notification controls on web if the app shows Enable notifications.
  5. Change marketing consent from onboarding or privacy/cookie preferences where shown.
  6. Use unsubscribe links in marketing emails if you want to opt out of marketing messages.

What happens next #

  • Allowed push notifications can be used for reminders and app return prompts.
  • Plan reminders follow the settings exposed in the app.
  • Rhythm-optimised notification timing can change when you correct a suggestion, pause notification timing, or reset Coaching Rhythm.
  • Transactional emails such as password reset, billing, and account messages can still be sent even if marketing emails are off.
  • Meal nudges should be suppressed while an active fasting plan is in a fasting window.

Troubleshooting #

  • Notifications are not arriving. Check device notification permission, Focus/Do Not Disturb, battery restrictions, and that you are signed in.
  • Notification timing feels wrong. Open Coaching Rhythm and pause notification timing personalisation, or tell your coach what timing would be more useful.
  • Web says notifications are blocked. Open your browser site settings for NutriTracker and allow notifications, then return to Settings > Account.
  • I opted out but still got a billing or password email. Marketing opt-out does not stop transactional account, auth, or billing emails.
  • Meal reminders arrive during fasting. Open Intermittent Fasting and check that the plan is active and the timer is in a fasting phase.

Privacy and safety notes #

  • Marketing consent should not be used as coaching consent. AI Data Sharing is managed separately.
  • Do not forward emails containing account links to others.
